I purchase BEHR interior/exterior Wet-Look Sealer Hi-Gloss No:.985 at Home Depot to seal my concrete porches.. This is the worst sealer I've ever used and I've been in concrete construction for over 30 years'.
The sealer went on looking milky and only looked wet when it was wet!. After the sealer dried it looked like a matt finish, then after a week it looked dull/. I used a 3/8" nap roller as per the directions and applied 4 coats at 5 hours apart between each coat and it never got glossy except when wet'.
After 2 months, I then purchased Consolideck DuraSheen from a local brick supplier( the sealer that I used on the porches originally 8 years ago ) and now the porches look wet all the time and the finish looks like it'll be there for years to come!.
After using BEHR sealer and it not performing as described, it's time to paint my house also and I will not use a BEHR product. 35b28f1

| 1. Written by Charlie on August 15, 2011 At the expense of pointing out the obvious are you sure you applied it correctly? You said you are in Texas, not sure when you applied it but for the last 40 days it's probably been over 80 degres and you cant apply it in the sun. You also said 4 coats 5 hrs apart which even if you could apply it in 30 min to an hour you would have been in that hot Texas sun sometime. I am just examining what you have posed here not that I am completely defending this sealer I did apply it correctly and it does look wet but the cure time I believe is a lot longer than they say. It rained here 72hrs after I applied the second coat and the wet look turned to a milky sheen which did eventually dry out and return to the wet look. I hope that does not happen after it really cures. I found a roller to not be an effective way to apply it but I was applying it to stamped concrete. |

It didn't come out looking wet at all. maybe a bit of a sheen if the sun caught it right but as far as "Wet Look", it's definitely not what it says it will do. Thanks for the advice. |
